Former defender Glen Johnson believes Liverpool’s forwards Benjamin Sesko, Liam Delap and Ollie Watkins are not suitable for the club’s current style of play.
The Reds have enjoyed a superb season under Arne Slots, winning the Premier League title with four games remaining, but are expect to make some signings, with a centre-forward and right-back likely to be in the cards.

“Benjamin Cechko doesn’t excite me enough to pay big money for him – I would say the same with Liam Delap and Ollie Watkins. I never think about signing someone just because they’re worth it and those are not the names I want,” Johnson told TG Casino.
“You have to think about how these players fit into your system and I don’t think there are many strikers on the market who would fit what Arne Slot is looking for.”

Sesko recently spoke out on his future to admit “anything can happen”, but insist he was focus on his current employers for now.
“Right now, I’m 100 per cent focus on RB Leipzig,” the striker told Ufabet Germany on Tuesday. Then we’ll see what happens. It’s open, anything can happen.”
